Websites

Future Technologies Conference site Future Technologies Conference Site
(NNSA/DOE)

A DOE site which I redesigned from bottom up. It was my responsibility to create the design completely in CSS that was Section 508 compliant and easy to maintain. I had to use the old 'splash' page with some clean-up, and all other pages use the same template page and style sheet.

National Nuclear Security Administration National Nuclear Security Administration
(NNSA/DOE)

Main website for National Nuclear Security Administration. I maintained and updated this site almost daily. It was my responsibility to keep the site Section 508 compliant, and work within the CSS environment while maintaining it's integrity.

Small Business Administration NNSA/Small Business

A small but important part of the National Nuclear Security Administration, this organizations mission is to support the National Nuclear Security Administration's goal, which is to strengthen United States' security through the military application of nuclear energy and by reducing the global threat from terrorism and weapons of mass destruction, while optimizing the participation of highly qualified small businesses in our procurement process. Ellie Haga sculpture Ellie Haga Sculpture

This project was a real challenge because the artwork was very unique. I finally came up with the idea of using circles in the entire site because it reflected her work. It was a pleasure watching the site take shape right before our eyes. I love working on sites that aren't like any other and this one was certainly in that category.

She had no need for search engine ranking, hence very little text was used.

Michael Thompson photographer Michael Thompson Photographer

Mike Thompson is a very talented photographer (notice that I DID NOT say digital photographer) in Sedona, Arizona, who gets all the good work. It was an amazing trip to work with such a creative client. It's not many photographers who would think of showing beautiful $3,000 necklaces shooting out of toasters. Very creative, talented and so easy to do a site for. Just show the pictures and shut up.

Ken Rowe sculptor Ken Rowe

An incredibly talented sculptor that lives in Sedona, Arizona, but studies animals all over the world. I didn't get the chance to watch him work directly with the animals, but did get to look at pictures, which were used on the site. On person commented, "He's crazy to get that close to a bear!". But for Ken that's what he does to really get the feel of the animal and understand not only the bone and muscle structure, but it's energy and strength. Each page features a different sculpture, and one page shows sketches that began one completed bronze of a grizzly bear.

Verde Canyon Railroad Verde Canyon Railroad

What a ride! This amazing train runs up the Verde Canyon in northern Arizona and has some of the most spectacular canyons, rivers and wildlife you will ever see. They also really know how to do specialty trains. Wine Lovers, Chocolate lovers and 'Throw Momma From the Train'. This gave me a great opportunity to build a site that showed all the excitement of the clients business. Colorful, scenic and exciting was what were were going after. See for yourself if I hit the mark.

Art Institute Glitter Art Institute Glitter

Another incredibly brilliant customer, no joke! The largest glitter manufacturing company in the country, this sparkling business really has a sophisticated product that goes far beyond craft glitter. Martha Stewart picked up this line and featured it for Halloween and Christmas on the cover for the years 2005 and 2006.

I created the logo, colors, packaging and web site, a much need upgrade from the black and white logo before the change. .

Art Glitter 4 color ad Sparkle, Dazzle, Fun

A quarter page, four color ad for the largest glitter manufacturing company in the country ran in a popular craft magazine. As the company Marketing Art Director, the company brought me in-house to redesign the logo and consequently the package design. I also created all their ads with a $50,000 a year advertising budget. This product was eventually picked up by Martha Stewart and was featured two years in a row in 2005 and 2006 with front cover art. Art Institute Glitter has over 375 colors of fine art glitter and sells to over 15 countries around the world with the largest off-shore market in England.

Verde Canyon Railroad Flyer Throw Papa on the Train

As web designer and buyer for the gift shop, I created each flyer used to promote the speciality trains. This one, obviously for Father's Day, was shot on site with historical items from the Train Museum that is in-house. It also included some items from the gift shop.

Verde Canyon Railroad is a tour train located in northern Arizona and it has close to 100,000 riders a year. The train is strictly non-destination, and is known for it's relaxation and sophistication.

Photograph of wine Wine Lovers Train

Nothing better than a good glass of wine in a relaxing environment. This picture was taken on the outside of the Verde Canyon Railroad's "Wine Lovers Train". The sway of the train, the clicking of the tracks and the brilliantly beautiful surroundings makes this train just right for that special get away.
